Ranten Peak (1419m./4655 ft.) at Norefjell Mountain, Norway.

It had been snowing for days and the deep, loose snow was difficult even for skiing and the uphill trip to the foot of Ranten Peak took 4 hrs. I did not reach Ranten before sunrise as planned and instead found this windswept plateau to enjoy those wonderful moments of morning sunrise, looking at a radiant and glowing Ranten Peak.

Dalsnibba, 4904 ft (1495 m), Geirangerfjord, Norway.

When we first arrived at Dalsnibba, it was cloudy and we put aside thoughts about photography and just enjoyed the impressive view. Only moments later, the sky opened up and transformed the sky completely as the sun was setting behind distant snowcapped peaks. In a timespan of 20 min. I moved closer and closer to the edge, but the wind would have none of it and this was as far to the edge I dared. Many times, when looking back, I regretted that I didn`t move even closer for the most spectacular view. It will not be my last visit to Dalsnibba.

The autumn had started to paint the landscapes in amazing colors.
Usually the full-bloom autumn colors are at their peak in late september, but the early morning light was so subtle and beautiful on this hike so I made several images both in full-moon sunset and dramatic morning light.
